3dB Labs is seeking a skilled Engineering Manager who will partner closely with our Technical Architects and Product leadership to lead a strong group of developers and deliver a multi-faceted development roadmap. The ideal candidate can take their engineering background to lead multi-faceted teams. Our work environment is dynamic and fast-paced with a focus on quick-reaction responses to our customers' needs. We are looking for a well-rounded technical manager who has a willing hands-on approach and a passion for cultivating a high-performing and engaged software development team and will foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

Our employees are typically BS/MS holders in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, or computer science, but we will consider anyone with demonstrated skills and interest in leading software development and/or signal processing engineering efforts. The following experience areas are of interest:

  • Work with junior members of the Engineering Team to help mentor and guide best practices and skill growth
  • Significant experience as an individual contributor in the areas of DSP Engineering, software development, code management, and/or large scale data management
  • Desired Experience that would be a plus with our target application domains:
    • Digital signal processing and signals and systems theory
    • Software defined radio and digital communication theory
    • Communication systems design and/or RF system design 
    • Algorithm implementation using multithreading and SIMD techniques, mostly on x86 platforms
  • Additional domains in which we work:
    • C++ (highly desired, as it is our primary development language; all versions from C++11 onward depending on the project)
    • Development of software for Linux operating systems (our primary target platform)
  • Ability to represent the Engineering team in detailed technical design and capacity planning discussions to allow Software Development team members to focus on their individual workloads
  • Current or past US security clearance is a major plus
